‘DWTS’: Kim Zolciak Doesn’t Perform After Stroke & Her Fate Is Revealed

It was TV night on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ but one contestant was obviously missing — Kim Zolciak! See what the future holds for the TV personality and her partner below.

It was a drama-filled week on Dancing with the Starsbut all eyes were on Kim Zolciak, 37, after she suffered a stroke just hours after last week’s competition. See who went home on the September 28 episode of DWTS here.

More on Kim later. First, Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson kicked off the night by dancing Jazz to “Thank You For Being A Friend” from The Golden Girls. Guest judge Alfonso Ribeiro said Carlos needed to give him more energy. Julianne Hough said “overall, I thought it was a fun and creative dance.” Bruno Tonioli said they seemed so in sync. Carrie Ann Inaba said she didn’t think they improved from last week. They got a 31 out of 40!
Next, Paula Deen and Louis van Amstel danced the Samba to the theme from Gillian’s Island. “The Samba got stranded by the shipwreck. It went to pieces,” Bruno said. Carrie Ann said they captured the spirit of the show. Alfonso said she should be proud that she is giving it her all. They got a 20 from the judges, with boos from the audience.
Tamar Braxton and Valentin Chmerkovskiy danced the Tango to the Mad Men theme. “You two mean business! Dirty, ruthless business!” Bruno said. “That was must-see TV! You turned tonight’s temperature way up!” Carrie Ann said. Alfonso said she’s a front runner. Julianne said it was refreshing to see an innocent side of her because we know she is so strong. They got a 33!
Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas danced Jazz to the Breaking Bad theme song. “That was genius! Way to merge the theme with a great idea. I couldn’t tell who was who. Everything was powerful, well done,” Carrie Ann said.
Alfonso gave them some advice: “Awesome, that was fantastic! You can win [with Mark.] You can’t win with Carlos. That is your partner in this ballroom. Stay connected with him because you can win!” Julianne said they really felt like a team tonight. “Absolutely nothing is bad about that. I was totally transfixed. You looked like two professionals,” Bruno said. They got a 36 out of 40, the highest score of the night!
Andy Grammer and Allison Holker danced the Quickstep to the American Bandstand theme. Alfonso said he needs to work on his posture. Julianne said: “that was so much fun…I’m impressed.” Bruno loved the upbeat nature but wanted it to be more “crisp, clean and clear.” Carrie Ann said they need more of a connection. They got a 29!
Gary Busey and Anna Trebunskaya danced the Tango to the The Addams Family theme. “One word: perseverance. You have improved,” Julianne said. “You actually did the Tango! Well done,” Bruno said. “There was a newfound elegance,” Carrie Ann said. Alfonso said it was an Academy award-winning performance! They got a 25!
Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold danced a sexy Tango to the True Blood theme song. “True talent runs in your blood. It was compelling to the last bite,” Bruno said. “You are a powerful partner, I loved watching you dance,” Carrie Ann said. Alfonso said he danced like the hero he is. Julianne said: “I thought that was perfection. I think you have the best technique of anybody in this competition!” They got a 33!
Then, we got an update on Kim Zolciak Biermann and Tony Dovolani. Kim suffered a stroke 12 hours after leaving the show last Tuesday night. At just 37 years old, she got a blood clot, which led to the stroke. After being in the hospital for three days, Kim was released on Friday night. Since she was unable to fly back to L.A., her partner Tony danced their dance with Jenna. Then Kim joined the show via Skype. “I feel great. I rehearsed all day Saturday but then my doctor told me it was too soon to fly. I could go next week but now I’m really sad.” The rules, since 2005, state that in case of illness or inability to dance, the couple must withdraw.
